The Ha Long Bay – Indochina Junk

The Ha Long Bay in Vietnam has been on my travel list of a “must-see” destination since I watched the movie ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ with Pierce Brosnan.

Although the bay is shown in a few shots only in the movie, it really ignited my desire for similar adventures. This further dragged me into sending out couple of emails to travel agencies to offer joint venture through filming these locations for them. There are many travel agencies that provide a trip into a breathtaking location, ranging from day trips to three-day trips with a wide range of options of activities such as kayaking, floating villages, cave explorations, barbecue parties on the private beach and so on.

So I got lucky when I got an official invitation by one the most experienced travel agency in the Ha long Bay. I was super excited to leave for Vietnam with my girlfriend, Tyna. That invitation email is one of the most exciting emails I have ever opened!

After a while, I realized that all the hard work to “creating something” is really worth it, and this is what keeps me going. After few more emails back and forth with the agency, we flew to Vietnam in a month’s time.

Before you get to the harbor in Bãi Cháy, you have to get to Hanoi, which is about 3-4 hours by road. Two years ago, I spent 6 months traveling in Vietnam, I visited many places, but this capital city is really unique. The cultural old part fascinated me from the first sight. Few days before we go to Vietnam I booked the hotel in this area, but I didn’t expect this place to be this magical. After the driver dropped us in front of the hotel, the nightlife of the streets literally surrounded us from all sides. You probably wouldn’t find a better location for “street” photography.

Before we went into the hotel, we stopped at a local restaurant where we order well-known soup “Pho” and other local goodies.

After a few days of traveling in Vietnam I found out that “the poorer the place, the richer the kitchen is.”

We spend one night in Hanoi. Next morning we woke up early and travelled to Bãi Cháy. Driver with a warm welcoming smile picked us up from the hotel. The journey to Ha Long was in this very comfortable luxurious van.

After three and a half hours, we finally arrived in Bãi Cháy and we were finally on one of the most amazing cruises I’ve ever had in my life. For those of you who get sick on the boat, don’t worry, you will not even notice that you’re sailing on this big beauty.

We spent 3 days on the cruise ship. It’s the longest cruise that the travel agency offers. For more detailed description, which I highly recommend that you do, I read Týna’s blog. She has captured everything nicely in her blog, including useful information about the programs, accommodation, meals, sporting activities and other activities that the cruise offers. For those of you who prefer the video, I have prepared a 2 and a half minute edit.

Finally, I would like to thank Indochina Junk for their professional hospitality, delicious food and great staff. Chefs, waiters, promoters and rest of the crew on the boat spend 23 days a month on the boat, and they work like a big family. You’d feel a part of them as soon as you meet them! If you want to visit the Ha Long Bay, you should not miss this wonderful cruise full of positive people.

Got a new cooperation with a travel agency CKGO2.cz

When I came back from Sri Lanka, I spent almost one week editing my travel videos. After I released it I got a new collaboration with travel agency CKGo2.cz. It is a Czech travel agency that organizes tours for individuals, groups or corporate clients around the globe. They asked me to edit 5 separate videos focusing on famous tourist destinations and sport activities that you can find in Sri Lanka. The age group of potential clients is 50 years and above, so I had to adapt the music and edit to meet specific target group. First one is the video of tea fields. We were lucky that in Nuwara Eliya by chance, we saw ladies how they pick up the tea leaves. You can see stunning views over tea factories and plantations there.

Tea Fields

Kandy

The Kandy is a town located 500 meters above sea level and together with Colombo is the most popular city in Sri Lanka. It is the rich mixture of cultural monuments, interesting traditions and region offers many opportunities for walks and trails in surrounding jungle. The biggest experience for us was the introduction of traditional dance that took place every night in downtown!

Beaches

In this video, we look at life on tropical beaches in Sri Lanka. In the first 14 days we traveled almost whole of the south coast from Yalla National Park over tropical beaches around cities Tangalle, Matara and Weligama to the historic city of Galle, Hikaduwa and then back to the Colombo.

Fauna & Flora

Sri Lanka’s flora and fauna is really worth seeing. For us, the best experience was an unplanned visit to private tea plantations near Galle, where we met the owner and his beautiful family. They are amazingly self sustained. From tea, rice, mango, jet fruit to one of the best curry that I ever had, they make it all in home! Then we continued to the Udawalawe National Park. Unlike other reservations, there are almost every day the opportunity to see wild elephants, diverse birds, crocodiles and other animals. You really need a lucky day in order to see leopards here. The next video includes both destination mentioned above.

Srí Lanka – Celé video

For the last video we have almost 2 min. length edit that includes the selection of all best shots which I filmed across the country. From walks on the beaches, a train ride between tea fields, a trip to the historic Nine Arch Bridge, waterfalls, traditional dances and local life.

For those of you who don’t want to spend time to plan similar adventures but rather just enjoy the trip, I highly recommend visiting the website CKgo2.cz. They are happy to make your trip hassle free with planning everything from A to Z for you!

SRI LANKA

On my journeys, I explore the world, enrich myself with interesting things and new culture, learn from local people and share it with all of you through the filming.

I met my soul while I was filming in Croatia last year. Our interests went same way so we decided to continue our adventure together. After few weeks later we planned a trip to Sri Lanka.

The first week we spent on the beach and than we moved to the Adam’s Peak. The mountain well know as the place of convergence of many world religions. Anyway if you want to see the outstanding view from the top of this magical mountain you need to walk over 5200 stairs.

You don’t need extra skills, just get your ass ready at 2am, pack up breakfast and hope that when you climb up the top, the sunbeams show you clear sky with tropical landscape view after you hear traditional bell ring. Unfortunately, we weren’t lucky and after two hours walk in the rain, we missed the sun. Despite of the weather, we really enjoy it and day after we bought tickets for the train. We traveled through tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya to the southern part of the island, famous especially for great surfer conditions. It was one of the most amazing journey of my life.

We spent over 5 weeks of traveling. It was enough time to met the open hearts of the people, their hospitality and the smile that accompanied us across the country. It’d be really long story If I describe each location and person we met so I’m giving you better way in the form of a video clip.

Tyna released new blog couple of weeks ago. So If someone is really interested in reading our trip step by step I recommend visit website

I’d like to say thank you all friends we met and everyone joined us on the way. Travel brings amazing moments that would eventually disappear without the right people around us.

Thank you!

ZRCE BEACH

It was year 2012. My friends asked me to join them on the trip to the Pag. Pag is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic SeaCroatia. It is the fifth-largest island of the Croatian coast, and the one with the longest coastline. I had no idea what’s going on there. He said they organise some kind crazy events on the beach. So I was getting excited. After two days I packed my stuff included one swimsuit, GoPro camera and we finally left to Croatia.

After 12 hours on the way we arrived on the island and we were so surprised. We felt we were at Ibiza. We didn’t met any usually turists and families which basicily spend summer holiday in Croatia. Why was this island different from another location in Croatia? We found out immediately. There is one famous beach called Zrće. Zrće Beach is a worldwide well known party destination, with hotest clubs and venues. Numerous sports, recreation and entertainment facilities and high quality restaurants can be found on the beach, while a few attractive clubs offer entertainment throughout the all day and night..

From this time the madness started. We spent one an unforgettable week with party people, top DJs from around the globe. It was something magical. How you can see in video below. Anyway this is the first edit what I filmed on Zrće Beach 6 years ago. We filmed with 2 GoPro Camera. The editing took over 3 weeks. Couple of weeks later after I uploaded it on my youtube channel the video got over 160K.

After I released the video so many people started asked where is that place, how much they can buy a ticket for, etc. Only couple of people from Czech Republic knew Zrce Beach in this time. I also received an email from Partykybl.cz, they asked me if they could use my video as the main campain for launching a new travel agency. I said yes!

Next two seasons I joined this agency and we filmed another videos. We got over 860K.

Then I left Europe to southeast Asia. I spent almost 2 years of traveling around, learning new things, meeting interesting people from around globe, exploring a new culture, finding myself. It was such a great time!

After 2 years Partykybl introduced me such a huge project focused on boat parties, djs, social activities. I came back to Croatia and I followed the script includes over 15 short videos edits. Most of them are reflecting the specific time of the year as the first snowfall, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, launching sales, events schedule, etc. All videos were created in two languages and serves as media to reach people interested in trip to Croatia. The filming took almost 3 weeks. It was propably the biggest project during last year.

I really appreciate to have opportunity to be part of Partykybl community. Thank you so much and see you on Zrće Beach in June!

ICARE GROUP HONG KONG

„This August I flew to Asia to film an optical frames and cases manufacturer.“

The filming was supposed to take three weeks, including the transfers. I was going to film at three different locations: production of frames in Dongguan in China, office department in Hong Kong and production of cases in Cambodia. During filming in Cambodia, I met some great people, who support NGO organization called Les Enfants de klang Leu. This NGO takes care of young children and provide them hygiene training and health care. I spent only one day with children in the center but the happiness and love I received, will stay forever in my heart. Many thanks to Icare Group for the opportunity to be part of this project.
